The Odyssey Storyboards/Color Script

Ok, so it's not the ENTIRE Odyssey.. We couldn't fit that in a minute. This is only the part where Odysseus comes home, which I don't even think is how it happened. Didn't he disguise himself as one of his wife's suitors and put her to a test or something like that? But instead of the distrust and the potential betrayal, we show you the warm and touching side of the story, perhaps taking its place in a parallel universe.

New characters from the Odyssey

Meet Odysseus, and his wife Penelope. Recently I worked on a paper animation based on the Odyssey. Most of the assets are handmade with paper, some of which I posted last time. The characters however are made digitally to look like paper. They look really dark here because.. well it's a sunset scene and these are production assets. And I like them blue.

Here's an update

I realized there are actually people looking at this blog. So is it a bad decision that I suddenly changed the URL? At least now all my promo things are in the same name system. The new URL for this blog is dianabunny.blogspot.com, and it's here to stay! (for a while at least)

And here are some paper assets from a project I recently worked on. It's a story from the Odyssey, hence the boat and everything.

Anansi the Spider progress

Recently I have been working on a paper cut style animation with some other alumni from Art Center. The story is based on the folklore Anansi the Spider, written and directed by fellow alumni Elizabeth Bayne. I'm designing concepts for all the backgrounds, some of the characters, and I'm building all of the backgrounds and characters assets from paper.

We have actually been on this project for almost a year now, here are some most recent updates from me. I'm in the process making all the final assets, aaaaalmost ready to be animated!

To follow the progress of the project, follow our project blog here

scavenger hunt monster?

while "monster's lair" may seem like an extremely cliché theme.. our monster is different. he lives in a cave somewhere far off in the forests of northern Europe, where he developed a secret fascination towards city life. he goes off to residential areas at night and gathers old furniture and other things discarded by humans. oh and he enjoys abstract paintings. a lot.
